What is CrossFit?
The CrossFit programme delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specialising.
The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience, age or ability. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change programmes.
The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree not kind, both of whom have found their best fitness from the same programme.
There are 10 recognised general physical skills (both physical & neurological)
The ability of body systems to process, deliver, store, & use energy.
The ability of body systems to gather, process & deliver oxygen.
The ability of a muscular unit(s) to apply force.
The ability to maximise the range of motion at a given joint.
The ability of a muscular unit(s) to apply max. force in minimum time.
The ability to minimize the time cycle of a repeated movement.
The ability to combine several distinct movement patterns into a singular distinct move.
The ability to minimise transition time from one movement pattern to another.
The ability to control movement in a given direction or a given intensity.
The ability to control the placement of the bodies center of gravity in relation to its support base.
We currently follow the Ben Bergeron 'CompTrain Class' Programming.
Bergeron is the current Coach to CrossFit Games Champions Mat Fraser and Katrin Davidsdottir and many other world class athletes.
